Do complementary timer pins take inputs?

Hi.

This may be a ultimate dumb question.

I'm having hard time trying to make use of pins that are mapped to complementary outputs TIMx_CHyN (TIM1_CH2N, TIM8_CH3N, ...) to take edge interrupt on corresponding time channels, and just started to wonder if these pins are output only; they don't have a signal routed back to inputs of TIMx_CHy.

Thoughts? Pointer to ST literatures that describe what complementary output pins CAN'T do is highly appreciated.
