Hi,

You can check in Cube the compatible chips…

I would take the STM32H743BI , as best compatible chip.

And some pins, as VCAP, you have to check and change on new board version.

See DS of H743 and check yourself.

The closest exact drop-in replacement for the STM32F769BIT6 is the STM32F779BIT6, which shares the identical Cortex-M7 core and LQFP-208 footprint.

Replacement Part Core & Speed Flash / Package Key Differences vs. STM32F769BIT6
STM32F779BIT6 Cortex-M7 @ 216MHz 2MB / LQFP-208 Identical specifications, but adds a hardware cryptographic hash processor. This is the most seamless drop-in replacement.
STM32H743BIT6 Cortex-M7 @ 480MHz 2MB / LQFP-208 The recommended long-term migration path. Significant performance upgrade. Shares the exact physical footprint, though engineering will need to validate power domains (VCAP) and clock trees.
STM32H753BIT6 Cortex-M7 @ 480MHz 2MB / LQFP-208 Shares the same footprint and performance upgrade as the H743, but includes additional cryptography hardware.
STM32F767BIT6 Cortex-M7 @ 216MHz 2MB / LQFP-208 Pin-compatible, but lacks the MIPI-DSI host and hardware JPEG codec. Only viable if the end application does not utilize these advanced display features.

Cross-Reference & Migration Details

While the STM32H7 series (H743/H753) shares the exact mechanical LQFP-208 footprint and is designed for pin-to-pin compatibility with the F7 series, it is not a blind swap. Firmware adjustments are necessary to accommodate the 480MHz clock speed, different RAM architecture, and updated peripheral registers. If a client requires immediate, unmodified board functionality to fulfill a BOM shortage without triggering an engineering redesign, the STM32F779BIT6 is the safest sourcing recommendation.

Hello @Lionel-Ven,

The closest same family replacement to consider is STM32F769IIT6, as it remains within the STM32F769 series and offers very similar performance and peripheral features.
Please note that these devices may be functionally close, but not necessarily pin-to-pin compatible. Before selecting a replacement, be sure to verify:

  • package and pin count
  • pinout compatibility
  • critical peripherals used in your design

If you are open to a redesign or would benefit from higher performance, an STM32H7 device could also be a good option.

Best regards.
