32L476GDISCOVERY doesn't boot?

I received my 32L476GDISCOVERY and followed step 1 on the answer card to power the board using the USB mini-B connector. LD1 starts flashing slowly but nothing else happens. Nothing displays on the LCD screen as the instructions imply, and the host PC doesn't enumerate the USB device. Is there something wrong with my board?

    Doesn't sound promising. Tried another cable? Idd current jumper fitted?

    Top-side USB connector next to the ST-LINK chip?
