Question

1000 mbps ethernet PHY transceiver

Hi,

Hope someone can help me. I try to construct a STM32H753 based control module that will communicate with other modules in the network through a 1000 mbps ethernet port, that is a system requirement. How can I connect STM32H753 with the 1000 mbps PHY chip?

Thank you!

Bryan L

    You can't, the STM32 don't have GMII/RGMII.

OTOH, what would be the rationale for such a requirement? The STM32 hardly can provided a sustained gigabit stream, and 100M devices can merrily coexist on gigabit switches, can't they?

If the device must have gigabit support, you can go for a higher performance chip, or add a gigabit switch IC in between.
