Connection between EVLSPIN32G0B2 and ST-LINK/V2

Hi guys, 

 

This is my first topic and I hope this is the right section.

I’m trying to connect the EVLSPIN32G0B2 evaluation board to the ST.LINK/V2 program tool connected to PC via USB.

When I click on Connect on the STM32CubeProgrammer I get the error “ST-LINK error (DEV_CONNECT_ERR)”. 

Of course, when I do this I have the evaluation board connected to another usb port in order to supply the micro.

 

Why doesn’t it works? I can’t find my error.

 

I have another question: which is the program to be loaded on the EVLSPIN32G0B2 to make it working with Motor Pilor and be able to configure my brushless motor ?

EDIT:

I didn’t mentioned that the ST-LINK is connected to the EVLSPIN32G0B2 via a cable coded ARM-JTAB-20-10 bought on Mouser Electronic’s site and it is connected to the RESERVED connector on the EVLSPIN32G0B2 board.

Could you explain why you want to connect an external ST-LINK/V2 to an evaluation board like the EVLSPIN32G0B2 that already has an on-board ST-LINK/V2?

Could you please insert a photo of the ST-LINK/V2 you are using here (pls not attach it)?

Did you read the Getting Started Manual UM3398?

Yes, I read the UM3398 manual, and I think it is totally useless.

I think it referres to an older revision of the MC Workbench, the steps on chapter 3.2 are not corresponding to the actual revision of the software and this is very confusing to me.

For example, where is the option to create a new motor? Actually I can select only one of the predefined motors.

 

I’m trying to connect an external STLink because the built in one is not responding in any way to the STM32CubeProgammer.

I’m sure that is because I’m doing something wrong, but till now I don’t find any document in the ST universe usefull to solve my problem.

I had assumed the thread was about a problem with the ST-LINK/V2, which, incidentally, cannot work at J7 as a reserved connector.

The documentation for the evaluation board can, quite naturally, only touch lightly on the associated software, as it has its own documentation section.

However, since it apparently concerns the MCSDK, I have moved the thread to the STM32 MCU Motor Control forum so that you can be helped there.
