B-G431B-ESC1 shows Iq even without connecting to power / motor

i started working on the B-G431B-ESC1 board with a 2836 motor but it would not start. so i started looking at the setup and tried different configurations but no luck. the profiler would not run the motor either. 

after i disconnect the motor and removed the bus voltage, the Iq in the motor pilot still shows significant numbers.. i wonder if this is a sign of damaged board?

After a reset, the reported Iq value is high because offset calibration is not complete.

Starting the motor, the offset is measured, and the current measurements are compensated correctly.

i so i pressed the Start Button it briefly showed a pair of close-to-zero idq so i guess the calibration process was completed, the id stays to zero most of the time, the iq occasionally shows 13.xx amps instead of the previous 28.44A. but the motor still won’t start and no fault is given. after clicking the start button, it hummed for a second then go back to the beeping mode.

i’m using a motor that is listed in the mc workbench A2212/13T and generated the stock project without any modification. i supply it with a desktop 12V supply set to 5A (tried 10V too). 

any further suggestions?

Beeping mode is associated with electronic speed control (ESC) mode. Was it enabled?
If yes, refer to the ESC User Manual, Communication, programming, and command interfaces chapter.
