Question

ACIM motor open loop voltage mode enable overmodulation DPWM

Hi,

MC SDK 6.4.1, STM32G431, three shunt configuration.

I genrated code with workbench with open loop debug.

I am able to run ACIM motor in openloop voltage mode.

Now, i need to allow overmodulation to utilise 100% VBUS.

In MCWB I set DPWM overmodulation flag, generated code and mergerd changes with my actual application code.

I am expecting thate PWM waveform should be for DPWM but on CRO i see standard SVPWM.

Can anyone help to enable DPWM and utilise VBUS 100% using overmodulation?

Thanks & Regards,

Ketan Patel

Hello @Ketan Patel,

Sensorless Field Oriented Control of an AC Induction Motor examples are provided in MCSDK6.4.2 delivery.
Refer to STM32 MC SDK AC Induction Motor page for more details.

Hello @GMA,

I gone through ACIM NUCLEO-G431RB ACIM V/F example.

It does not have drive setting like in FOC to set over modulation flag to get maximum DC bus voltage utilisation.

I want to generate 415Vrms phase to phase from DC bus 587V with overmodulation.

Should I must use FOC project and use only in open loop mode?

I regenerated code with overmodulation enabled in FoC project (To use for ACIM in V/F).

Set open loop voltage control mode. VF mode is not enabled. Using OL_UpdateVoltage() to set required voltage.

But I am not able to pass full counts 32767 for 587V DC and target phase to phase voltage 415V. Instead i must have to limit it to 32767/1.4142. similarly i have to reduce this counts for every targeted voltage.

I tried to divide by some lower value, say 1.35,1.3 etc doing so motor currents get increased and unstable.

Is that as expected or is there some mistake?

My STMC WB DC bus voltage set 587.

From motor current waveform, i check freq is as expected. But i do not have sufficient setup to measure phase output voltage due to PWM.
