About Motor Profiler and IPMM15B’s problem

We’ve been using the Nucleo-F446RE + IHM09M2 + IPMM15B hardware setup. We’ve tested voltages of 50V, 80V, and 100V using transformer modules connected to a GPS-2303 DC power supply. We’ve also tried 167V with a different power supply.

However, only the 50V setup worked properly with the Motor Profiler. The only issue with 50V is that the motor could not reach a sufficient speed to “start profiler” and got stuck at 28%. The other voltages failed to even complete “Offset Detection”, getting stuck at 7% while displaying a “Driver Protection” error simultaneously. What factors could be causing this issue?

If the motor is not running, the power design may have some problem like under voltage. It seems the power input is not strong enough to drive the motor.

Does the hardware setup base on the reference design for STEVAL-IPMM15B? And what kind of loading like MOTOR is driving with the IHM09M2 + IPMM15B? Schematics sharing would be helpful

what kind for power supply used to drive this motor? Not sure the power supply is enough to provide 370W output

The "Driver Protection" fault usually indicates a hardware or protection issue. Check your power supply stability, current sensing, driver fault signals, and Motor Control Workbench settings. Comparing the behavior at 50V versus higher voltages should help identify what's triggering the protection.

The issue is likely caused by incorrect protection settings, gate driver faults, current-sensing errors, power supply limitations, or motor parameter mismatch. At higher voltages, the driver may trigger protection prematurely. Verify hardware connections, profiler settings, and overcurrent thresholds.😑

"We’ve tried another power supply capable of providing up to 3kW, but the process still fails when the voltage rises above 40V. The settings in MC Workbench are correct. We’ve also tested J1 (main power supply input) and J4 (auxiliary power supply input) with an oscilloscope, and both are functioning properly.

The input voltage is completely stable. The only thing we haven't checked is the current sensing. However, because the “driver protection” error appears and the process fails immediately, there’s no way to test the current. What could be the root cause of this problem?"
