Question

Using USB Vendor ID from ST

Hello together,

We planned to use for our product the following MCU: STM32L4A6RG.

So is it possible to use the USB Vendor ID from ST if I implement in the Firmware a Virtual COM Port over USB interface? I know that I can use the USB VID for evaluation purposes but is it also possible to use the VID for series production of a developed device?

Thank you in advance.

Dusan

Hello Imen,

My company is also interested in adopting STM32 for USB CDC devices developement.

What are your policies regarding the use of ST Vendor ID at current day?

Kind Regards,

Mattia

Hello

In my opinion, as I have had understand, you can use the VID for series production without problems. Furthermore you can register a PID at ST so you will have your own PID. Unfortunately, I don't know how the process is going accourding to the PID.

Kind regards
