Question

STM32U585 external LDO

Hi,

what would be recommended way to override internal LDO which is used for VDD11/VCAP preparation? Because of thermal management, we prepared external LDO to lower internal MCU temperature. In H5 family, there was an BYPASS bit in PWR management. Maybe shall I change Vos to lower level to let higher level LDO win? Or would you have other way :)

Thanks!

JM

Hello @JaMiro and welcome to the Community;

Could you please share the full Part Number of the product used?

I recommend you to look at AN5373 precisely Figure 7. Power supply scheme for U535/545/575/585xxxxQ (with SMPS) and Figure 8. Power supply scheme for STM32U535/545/575/585xx (without SMPS).

I hope this help you.

Thank you.

Hi,

I’m using STM32U585QII3 so without SMPS. I’ve seen this diagram, but I’m looking for recommendations how to cut internal LDO from supplying VCORE line to use external one.

Hello @JaMiro ,

According to the datasheet, there is no way to bypass mode and apply arbitrary voltage to Vcore domain.

Thank you.
