Question

ST-Link works on one computer but not the other, why

I use Jtag with ST-Link on my computer and tries to erase chip on my PCB. However, it says "read out protect enabled". Now, the thing is, this wasn't enabled before I pressed on "erase chip" within ST-Link, but once I pressed it, it activated it. If I take out my device and run STlink again (without pressing on erase chip), it is set to disabled/level 0 again.

Now, if I try this at my friends computer with the same Jtag, it works without problem to erase my device. So the problem must be within my computer I assume? The question is, what can make this occur on ones computer? So that I can erase my device again.

Same versions of ST-Link is used.

Hello @CEmrk.1

Maybe the issue is with the STLink driver try to reinstall it.

Also I advise you to try using the STM32CubeProgrammer.

Kind Regards,

Semer.

Try a powered USB 2.0 hub (not USB 3.x)
