Sharing pinout of NUCLEO-C542RC and STM32C542RCT6

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share with you all the pinout of NUCLEO-C542RC and STM32C542RCT6. I just moved from STM32F013RB, which had a lot of schematics online, but currently the C5 series has close to none.

The pinout list all the available functions for each pin. I hope it’ll be as useful for you as it was for me. I attached to this post the drawio file, for easy edits.

If you have any recommendation, please let me know.

Hi ​@TheBigBadBoy, I had a good look at the attached drawing and I think it solves a problem, making alternates visible.

Your drawing looks very good and has got me thinking about having such a drawing for STM32H5E5ZJ (as on the NUCLEO-H5E5ZJ PCB).

I had a look at the link and yes I understand, I’m humbled by how much work has gone into this over so many years - I am new to STM32.

I have been referring to RM0517 a lot recently and cant help but be impressed by the consistent explanation and charting of registers and so on. So far I have used ST Cube MX to hunt for alternate pinouts and decided that it is very solid when you know what you want.

So the above pinout expansion (or other forms of charts) helps to plan alternates quickly in that pre-project space. With the NUCLEO-H5E5ZJ it can be a bit of a game of Chess looking for a good pinout/alternate/PCB layout solution.

I haven’t looked further than the STM32H5E5ZJ yet, its an amazing device!  But I noted that there are new releases around the STM32H5F5.

I haven’t used it yet but the PLAY built into the STM32H5E5ZJ tipped the balance deciding to choose the STM32H5E5ZJ over other STM32H devices.
