I have a laptop Thinkpad T496, new install Windows 10 and a Nucleo-F401RE debug board. After installing STSW-LINK004, the board is not visible. A composite USB device appears in the device manager. How can the debugger see the board?

The debugger can see the board due to the driver that runs on the host (Windows). If you look deeper in the device manages, you will see the children of the composite device, one of these is the ST-LINK interface.
