Question

ST25R500 Standalone Eval Board

Hi Team,

I am currently working on integrating the ST25R500 NFC reader using its standalone evaluation board with an external NXP MCU.

Could someone please guide me on how to connect the ST25R500 evaluation board to the NXP MCU, including the required hardware connections and interface signals?

Your support and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Section 4.1 “System diagram” in the datasheet shows you how to connect any MCU - it’s just SPI plus an IRQ line.

See also Application Notes, etc, on the ‘Documentation’ tab of the Product Page:

See also the ‘Tools & Software’ tab for example code:

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

Hi Raky21,

I agree with Neil, no matter which MCU, it is just SPI + IRQ + MCU Supply (VDD_IO) for the level shifter. Lets assume the MCU (and its peripheral) is running at 3.3V and the ST25R at 5.0V, VDD_IO should be connected to the same 3.3V supply as the MCU.

Please also have a look at the deliverables of the ST25R300 (X-NUCLEO-NFC12A1, STEVAL-25R300KA). The ST25R300 is the consumer version of the ST25R500.
