Question

Why can I not freely develop my own protocol using the STM32WB? Why restrict to only Bluetooth an 802.15.4

Why am I limited to using the Bluetooth and 802.15.4 MACs? The hardware can clearly do FSK and DSSS, so why the striction? Why are you restricting entrepreneurs from innovating and developing free and open source protocols for use in the 2.GHz space - in a world where Bluetooth, Thread and Zigbee is all-proprietary?

The STM32WB range have a very attractive price, the only thing we need is free and open hardward (and btw. when is ST going to replace ARM with RISC-V ?).

We do not open the M0+ core to proprietary development as we would not want to support such configuration.

Our strategy is to provide a set of certified RF stacks that we spend a lot of time on to make them efficient from timing constraint aspects.

We understand your frustration but we cannot support all possible system configurations all our customers would like to use.
