What is the definition of tick time?

I am developing the firmware to control the L6470 IC.

On my board the L6470 uses an internal clock.

The main factor in motor control is tick.

There is no information on tick setting in the L6470 data sheet, all calculations are based on 250ns.

When using the internal clock, is the tick 250ns?

How do I calculate when using an external clock?

Hello @scho.1 welcome to the ST Community.

I confirm, as reported in the L6470 datasheet the tick is equal to 250 ns.

It is not possible change the tick value.

In both cases, use of internal or external clock the tick is always 250 ns.

In particular when you use external clock source, it is internally scaled to obtain a tick of 250 ns.
