What is the best way to make work-like prototype?

My project is to build a battery operated you've got mail detector (which detects if there is mail inside the mailbox with TOF sensor with RF notification. Which would be the preffered way to build this proof of concept? Nucleo + Shields? Disco + Shield? Eval? Wire-wrapping/jumper wire?

    In this context probably Nucleo plus Shield. Sounds like you want the most minimal approach.​
