Designing doubts with SPV1040

I need to charge LiPo battery with solar cell. I found out the SPV1040. But the datasheet doesn't provide enough details, I was unable to find any document to help me, and the eDesignSuite doesn't work. Related documents use it with L6924. Can I simply use the SPV? How do I control the maximum charging voltage and current?
