Using a protion of the flash as a file system

Has anyone used the tools or repository firmware to setup a portion of the Flash as a disk with a file system?

    The larger blocks (F2/F4) and the stalling of the processor tend to play against practical applications and the use of FAT.

    That's not to say you can't use more flash friendly file systems and storage methods, especially read-mostly. If you just need configuration data the 16KB sectors on the F2/F4 are manageable.

    Given the relative easy of attaching and using SDIO I'd tend to lean that way.
