    Strangely enough, I get similar instabilities using a FDTI based JTAG debugger with OpenOCD connected to GDB when using external SRAM.

    Did you ever solve or find a workaround for your problem?

    Have you tried other JTAG debugger?

    I just ordered a JLink one, and will let you know if I suffer the same results as previously.
