Full-Time Position, Maryland, STM32 Embedded Systems

Looking for folks willing to embrace the latest STM32Cube system.

If someone were paying me enough to fix all the issues in CubeMX/HAL it's a thistle I'd embrace, but if I were looking to build robust commercial code I'd have to wonder about your thought processes.

Resistance is futile ;)

So far our experience has been extremely positive.

We've had 2 full time EEs using STM32Cube libraries and STM32Cube MX for the last 10 months. The 2nd iteration of our prototype is stable using Cube libraries on an F7, F4, and F0 chip.

Any bugs we've encountered have been address by our local FAEs who have direct access to the factory Engineers.

ST has a great line of Cortex M micros, they are investing heavily in creating a software development ecosystem to support their chips - and for free! It's just going to get better with time and we appreciate the direction and good intentions of all the ST folks working on these tools.

Resistance is futile

In my experience it is not, it is very easy to change the outcome of events by applying just the right amount of pressure in the right places, at the right time. My code and ideas touch everything.

The most complex part of our product uses an STM32F7 with TFT, SDRAM, QSPI, USB, UART, SPI, RTC, Keypad, DACs and ADCs.

With all the ST eval boards, STM32Cube libraries, STM32Cube MX and access to the schematics\layouts we were able to get our hardware and software up and running in record time. Couldn't imagine doing this from scratch.....

If your are realistic, these F7 applications have to compete against low-cost Cortex A MCUs and boards. Things don't look so pretty anymore, then.

And BTW, the Borg of those TV series are modeled after the Socialist/Communist empire. This crowd also viewed themselves as the next inevitable step of human development, so resistance should have been futile ...
