How does the user control the inrush current using an external capacitor?

The schematic in the X-NUCLEO-DRP1M1 datasheet shows capacitors C7/C8 cap on MOS Drain/Gate.
The inrush current is controlled by adding optional capacitors on the V_BUS path if the MOS Cgd capacitor is not enough.
