Thermal impact of repetitive 100A current pulses on STPS61L60C diode
We have to qualify the STPS61L60CW as a 2nd source, but unfortunately in the datasheet we do not find any Information about repetitive surge current.
Your diode is used in the freewheeling path of a trigger circuit for a power semiconductor. The trigger current is totally 200A, per diode (two per TO-247 case) we have a peak of around 100 A. However, the pulse duration is only a few microseconds and will be repeated with a maximum of 1 kHz. This is how the waveform looks like:

We tested our system with your diode in our lab without problems. But just to be sure, do you confirm from your side that we do not take any thermal risks with these high current pulses?
