Question

STEVAL-IHM023V3 in "3-phase HV FOC control for SMPMSM". We plan to use external control with 5V digital signals for all inputs (E-stop, PWM-H,L, brake, etc), It is save to set the Vdd at 5V in that case?

We're planning to develop some motor drive academic boards for SMPMSM FOC motors for Master Students and for one of the parts we're using is STEVAL-IHM023V3. We're currently development the platform.

In the manual UM1823, page 28, table 6 for FOC control of HV PMSM 3-shunt, you state that if the 3-shunt configuration is to be used, the W1 jumper must be set to 3.3V.

That jumper is the one used for the vdd_micro value.

We will use independent external current measurement probes (isolated) and a non a STM control to attack the drive (externally powered).

Our inital questions is:

1) We plan to use external control with 5V digital signals for all inputs (E-stop, PWM-H,L, brake, etc), It is save to set the Vdd at 5V in that case?
