SPV1050 How to limit the charging current for a small LiPO battery

Hello!

on our project that use the SPV1050, we need to charge a small LiPo battery that have a 20mA maximum charging current. Could someone help me find a good solutions for regulate the current from BATT Pin?

There are several ways you can limit the charging current, which also depend on how your overall system is set up and where your load is connected:

  • Limiting the SPV1050’s output power by limiting the input current
  • Charge controller on BATT, e.g. with the L6924D or a discrete linear regulator

20mA at a maximum of 4.2V corresponds to a maximum charging power of 84mW. If your source stays below that plus the losses, the charging current should be automatically limited.
