P-Nucleo-IHM001 Motor Not rotating

I have ordered P-Nucleo-IHM001 via Digikey.

When trying the default FW, both FOC and 6-steps, the motor is not rotating.

I connected the motor to a drill and rotate it, all three wires will produce around 1V peak to peak.

Here is the video when testing.

Any idea which one is faulty? Motor, driver board, etc?

Hi,

Sorry for the late update.

The motor stuck because of tight mounting on the PCB and hole misalignments.

The base of the motor slightly warped due to tension and it cannot rotate due to friction.

Thanks!

I also tried Motor Profiler App, it would take a long to test and will fail.

I also measured by current probe with amplifier, there is an AC current with same amplitude and freq for each wires.

Hello @victagayun,

in your video the led D11 on X-NUCLEO-IHM07M1 is blinking twice so you are in FOC control mode (JP1 and JP2 closed, J5&J6 on 3Sh side).

I cannot check all the NUCLEO-F302R8 settings:

  • JP1 open: ok
  • JP5 (PWR) on E5V side: it seems to be open (please check)
  • JP6 (IDD) closed: it is no visible, please check.

Can you confirm that you have made all the settings before applying the 12 V power supply?

Have you tried regulating the motor speed via the potentiometer (R42)?

For a better support, please check the above settings and share feedback.
