Solved

Mouser SO# 490877 Hello, a customer is requesting clarification that the ICs we shipped them for P/N: VN7050ASTR are the correct ICs as the marking only shows "VS7050A".

The customer expected the full part-number as marking..

We pointed him to the mfr label which shows the correct part-number and the marking.

The hint in the datasheet showing that the marking is limited to 7characters with the last 2chars of the P/N being related to the packaging only, was also not acceptable for the customer.

Would you have some official document showing the marking lineout for this specific part that could be accepted by the customer?

I'm also attaching a provided picture from the customer for a received part.

Thank you very much.

Best regards

Adnan

Hi, @AZata.2393 ,

thanks for this interesting question.

As you said, the datasheet actually shows the marking for both packages SO-8 and PowerSSO-16, as well as the order codes on pg 39. The TR suffix is well known throughout the industry as "Tape and Reel". Because only two packages are available, which can also be distinguished with a unique letter (J/S) within the ordering code and simply by looking at them, the 7 characters mentioned are fully sufficient for identification.

Hope this helps in communicating to the customer?

Regards

/Peter
