For 5V supply voltage:

VREG connected to 3.3V or  internally supplied (in this case plase a capacitor on Vreg pin)

VDD connected to 5V

If using 5V only for Vdd

What value cap(s) are recommended for a open (using Internal 3.3V reg) Vreg pin

Thanks

Joe

Dear Joe,

The VREG pin needs at least a 22uF capacitor to be stable. The recommended value is 47uF.

If you want to use a electrolytic cap, I also suggest you to add a small ceramic cap (100nF) to filter the current spikes coming from the logic.

The VDD need a 10uF capacitor.

Kind Regards

Enrico
