I need to replace an old L5991A. The question is which L5991XXX is drop-in replaceable? L5591AD?

    Welcome, @AAnde.5, to the community!

Even if the L5991 is old, only the DIP16 package is obsolete, the SO16 package is still in production, so I moved your question from Discontinued Products to Power Management.

Yes, it would be a good idea to switch to the L5991AD.

    Good luck!
