Question

Designing with an RHFL7913A voltage regulator. It has a current limitation option with adjustability by connecting a resistor between Vin and the Isc pin. There is no equation or indication as to how to choose the resistor value. Can anybody help?

Hello MCox.1

Do you have any update on RHFL7913A?

I have almost the same problem. I tried to simulate it but the model that ST provides is even not for RHFL7913A, it is for LHC7913

None, and asking ST for help was a joke. Apparently no one there knows anything about it either.

However, I did find a graph for the ISC pin in the positive regulator datasheet (I can't find the part number right now, ST site is down). Figure 45 "Short Circuit current vs. Rsh. It doesn't give much but enough to get an idea of what you might need. I figure I'll have to work through several value changes for that resistor to get exactly what I want. Perhaps then I can build a table that will help in the future.
