Conformation Request for the top marking of STS10P4LLF6

Hello ST,

I wonder if the top marking of STS10P4LLF6 is indeed 10P4L.

Based on the latest datasheet (Rev 5, issued in Jan 2021), the top marking code is 10P4L.

However, we received STS10P4LLF6 with “10K4L” but the date code is 2447.

Could you please explain how this could happen?

Best regards,

You asked exactly the same question both in the community and to OLS under the ticket number 00268851. However, making the most noise does not necessarily increase the speed at which you receive an answer.

Still, here is the answer already: the marketing colleagues unfortunately forgot to update the earlier marking 10P4L to the current marking 10K4L in the datasheet, for which I ask forgiveness.

Hope that answers your question?

Regards
/Peter

Hi Peter,

Thank you for the response.

However, I strongly believe that "10K4L" is actually the legacy marking code. According to the Rev 3 datasheet archived on AllDatasheet, it is explicitly listed as 10K4L.

https://www.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/932786/STMICROELECTRONICS/STS10P4LLF6.html

Could you please double-check this for me one more time?

I have already provided our PO information in Online Support Case #00268851. I would greatly appreciate it if ST could provide an update and follow-up on this matter via OLS then. I look forward to receiving your prompt response to the OLS inquiry as well.

Best regards,

Brian

I am not aware of it, and I doubt the OLS team can do much with your PO number.

However, I did see the unusual marking and have already raised internal queries in order to get a definitive answer. That said, I cannot predict how long it will take to receive a reply, as STS10P4LLF6 already has the status NRND (Not Recommended for New Design).

As I’ll be travelling over the next few days and won’t be able to provide an update, I have to ask for a little patience - but perhaps the colleagues from OLS will reply in the meantime.

Regards
/Peter
