The hyperterminal example for the stm8s-discovery works but can it be changed from ASCHII to UT8

Hyperterm from windows XP won't run correctly on my window 10. I config it for 8 databits and when it connects it is 7 and doesn't recognize some characters. All other terminal programs it prints garbage.

1. Why ASCHII?
2. How to change it?
