Super-basic questions

In need of help... I have been given a .s19 program that I need to load onto a STM8F board. I don't need the L board. I have absolutely 0 experience with this programming environment, and am having trouble finding any tutorials to walk me through this.
What options do I select in the STVP configuration menu? I picked RLINK, USB, SWIM, but there's like 20+ different STM8F boards to choose from. Can someone either point me to a manual and page number or give me step by step instructions on how to load this program I have and get it running? It's a preexisting program that has already been tested and used, so there will be no editing involved.
