ST7540 Alternative part

Is there currently a recommended alternative for the ST7540? Also, what is the PLC (powerline communication) chip that ST is currently promoting?

As stated in PTN 15792, the ST7540 transceiver has been discontinued without replacement and could be ordered for the last time on 25/02/2026. As a similar powerline device, the ST7580 SoC may be considered, but this requires extensive conversion work, in which a look at the tool X-NUCLEO-PLM01A1 or support from your local distributor may be helpful.
