Request for ST LED Drawer Android application for STEVAL-LLL005V1

Hello,

I recently purchased the STEVAL-LLL005V1 evaluation board and I am currently preparing to use it for evaluation and testing.

According to the ST documentation for the board, an Android application called Led Drawer is available for controlling the LED matrix through Bluetooth Low Energy.

However, I could not find the Android application on the current ST website. I have also searched for it on the Internet, but unfortunately I have not been able to find a working or reliable download of the application.

Since I have purchased the STEVAL-LLL005V1 board and the Android application is part of the functionality described in the official documentation, I would like to ask whether ST still has the original application available.

If the application is still available internally, could you please provide the APK file by email or by another suitable download method?

If the original application is no longer officially distributed, I would also appreciate it if you could let me know whether there is an archived version that ST can provide.

The board I have is:

STEVAL-LLL005V1

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Best regards

Welcome @x_name41, to the community!

If the APK is not included in the firmware, only the personal Online Support OLS can still help you with a ticket. However, the APK was developed many years ago for the now obsolete module SPBTLE-RF, so it may no longer be compatible with current Android versions.

the APK was developed many years ago for the now obsolete module SPBTLE-RF, so it may no longer be compatible with current Android versions.

But it is still headlined as a key feature on the Product Page:

If it’s obsolete and/or no longer supported or usable, shouldn’t it (at least) be marked as NRND ?

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

You may also want to check the original ST documentation and software package associated with the STEVAL-LLL005V1, since older Android companion apps are sometimes removed from the main download pages while the board documentation still references them.

I’d avoid downloading the APK from an unknown third-party source, especially for a BLE-controlled evaluation board. An archived APK can be useful, but it’s better to verify that it is the original ST application and hasn’t been modified.

@x_name41,

Please share your email address via the private message functionality, I will send out the app by email, as here the .apk file is not supported.

Best Regards
