Is the device programming properly? Can you read/back validate the code download?

How is the process with the debugger, vs production programmer different?

Output signs-of-life to GPIO or UART so you can home in on what is and is not working, and how deep into you code it is getting.

Look a pin or timing level differences that the debugger might introduce.
