BLUENRG-M0A Bluetooth module's shelf life

For the BLUENRG-M0A Bluetooth module, what is its normal shelf life when stored in a warehouse? We plan to purchase 1000 units at one time, but it will take several years to use them up. Will long-term storage affect the product lifespan? How can we achieve long-term proper storage, and what are the environmental requirements for the warehouse?

The shelf life is defined by the MSL that you can find for the device in the Material Declaration. The JEDEC, in turn, defines how to proceed for the respective MSL in its J-STD-033 (currently J-STD-033D).

Let me summarise this for you:

• BLUENRG-M0A is MSL3
• JEDEC defines a floor life of 168 hours (=7 days) for MSL3 and at factory ambient ≤30ºC/60% RH
• If the 168 hours have been exceeded: the devices must be dried/baked before reflow in accordance with J-STD-033, clause 4, using the bake conditions specified there
• If still in an intact moisture-barrier bag (MBB): they may remain in dry storage; the shelf life is at least 12 months from the seal date
