Why should the new inclinometer be better than an accelerometer to monitor the health of structures?

    In monitoring of structures with an accelerometer there are two main parameters which are of interest:

    - first one is the measure of any small change of inclination/position overtime, - for example of beams - and this is accomplished by the inclinometer thanks to its accuracy and repeatability -

    - the other one is the monitoring of the low frequency / low amplitude vibrations of the structures. In this case, the IIS2ICLX is by far superior to standard accelerometers because of its ultra-low noise and, moreover, thanks to its bandwidth which is programmable from few hertz up to 260Hz, enable the recording with very high resolution of the vibrations in the full spectrum of frequency which are relevant for structure monitoring
