Question

VL53L0X running on a 3.3 voltage rail

We have designed a circuit using this chip with the 3.3 voltage rail . Without converting it to 2.8 as it is bellow the max thresh-hold as per the datasheet.

We also pulled up the XSHUT pin high to 3.3v using a 10k ohm resistor. In theory it should put the device into a software standby state. But the device doesn't turn on.

The only way we were able to turn on the device on was directly connecting the 3.3 v to the XSHUT pin, but it fails to do any sort of ranging.

We followed the Application schematic, described on the datasheet.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

We are using VL53L0X with 3.3 V rail and 10K pull-up resistors and it works. Perhaps its life span will be shortened.
