Question

ST AIoT Craft support for STEVAL-MKI234KA with LSM6DV16BX ...

Hello.

I would like to use ST AIoT Craft with a SensorTile Box Pro and the MKI234AA DIL24 board to have an external LSM6DSV16BX IMU (different from the onboard LSM6DSV16X).

Six months ago, in December 2025, the accelerometer and gyroscope data logging from the LSM6DSV16BX was visible in the ST AIoT Craft interface, and I was able to collect data successfully.

Today, I can no longer select the LSM6DSV16BX device because it is no longer visible in the available sensor choices. As a result, I am no longer able to collect data from it.

I find this situation rather surprising, and I understand that ST AIoT Craft has evolved since the version I was using in December 2025.

However, when creating a new project, it is still possible to select the SensorTile Box Pro and then choose the external board STEVAL-MKI234KA. The issue is that during the data logging phase, the LSM6DSV16BX sensor never appears among the available sensors, making it impossible to collect accelerometer and gyroscope data from this device.

Could you please provide more information on this topic?

In particular, I would like to know:

  • What changes have been introduced in the recent versions of ST AIoT Craft?
  • Is the STEVAL-MKI234KA board still officially supported by ST AIoT Craft?
  • Is support for the LSM6DSV16BX sensor currently available, planned, or deprecated?
  • Is there a specific procedure required to enable data logging from the external LSM6DSV16BX connected through the STEVAL-MKI234KA board?

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide. I hope someone from the ST team will be able to clarify this situation.

Best regards,

Hi again.

In fact, i’ve the same problem if i configure a new ST AIoT Craft project with STEVAL-MKI247A with IMU LSM6DSV80X.

I mean that i cannot access the Datalog configuration of the LSM6DSV80X.

What is wrong in my use of ST AIoT Craft … any idea

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello @dufaza,

STEVAL-MKI234KA (LSM6DSV16BX) and STEVAL-MKI247A (LSM6DSV80X) are still supported by ST AIoT Craft. They are not planned to be deprecated at the moment.

I could not reproduce your issue. Could you please provide more details?

  • Which FW and version are you using?

  • Do you want to log your data into an existing dataset, or are you creating a new dataset from scratch?

Thank you.

Hello and thanks for your response.

I’m using SensorTile BoxPro with DIL24 MKI234KA (LSM6DSV16BX).

FW version of Datalog2 3.2.0 flashed on my BoxPro.

Create a new project, new model, new dataset from scratch.

Cannot see the LSM6DSV16BX when started datalogging (see image).

Thanks

Hello @dufaza

Please confirm that you are following these instructions:

  1. Push the DIL24 adapter on the SensorTile.box Pro board while the board is switched off and not connected to the PC. Please check the proper orientation of the DIL24 adapter.
  2. Connect the SensorTile.box Pro to the PC and switch it on.
  3. Open the relevant dataset in ST AIoT Craft.
  4. Click “Log new data” button
  5. If necessary, update the firmware
  6. If necessary, pair your device
  7. Connect the device
  8. The “Log data” page opens, and LSM6DSV16BX is still not listed

Thank you.

Hello Jana,

yes i confirm all the procedure.

But, at this time, i suspect that my MKI234KA is out (i don’t know the reasons and/or the history)

So, next monday, i will receive new sample of MKI234KA and i will be able to test it again.

Of course, i’ll keep you informed.

Thanks for your help
