Hi,

I am planning to use IMU ASM330LHB for my project and test the sensor functionality using board STEVAL-MKI236A.
I want to know whether I can plug STEVAL-MKI236A into the DIL24 connector of the SensorTile.Box PRO and test the functionality using SensortTile.box smartphone app ST BLE Sensor

https://community.st.com/mems-and-sensors-62/getting-started-with-sensortile-box-192
I want display the below values as mentioned on the link.

Is it possible?

Thanks,
Sucheta

Sometimes you do not get an answer here.  So I asked AI your question and google said

Yes, you can plug the STEVAL-MKI236A adapter board (which houses the ASM330LHB IMU) into the DIL24 connector on the SensorTile.box PRO. However, to read and stream data using the ST BLE Sensor app, you will need to perform a few firmware and configuration steps. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Key Requirements for Compatibility:

  • Hardware Connection: The STEVAL-MKI236A is a standard DIL24 adapter and will physically fit into the DIL24 socket on the SensorTile.box PRO. [1, 2]
  • Firmware Flashing: Because the SensorTile.box PRO is configured for its onboard sensors by default, you will need to flash custom firmware to recognize your external ASM330LHB. You will have to generate and load the correct configuration using MEMS Studio. [1, 2]
  • Data Streaming: Once the board is programmed with the correct firmware profile, the ST BLE Sensor app (available on iOS and Android) will detect the custom stream and allow you to view, plot, or log the real-time ASM330LHB sensor data via Bluetooth. [1, 2, 3]

If you would like, I can:

  • Detail the steps to compile and flash the firmware using MEMS Studio.
  • Explain how to configure the routing for the DIL24 pins.

Now i may not be fully correct but often aka frighteningly often the AI is a better teacher than any teacher I ever had except Mr Vance in Junior High School Science in St Louis.

So you just get more questions, but someone who is patient and never calls you stultus answers them, but they have to be the right question.

The AI-generated explanation is a helpful starting point, but it's always best to verify hardware compatibility and firmware requirements with ST's official documentation or support. A step-by-step guide from an ST engineer would provide the most reliable setup instructions.

The problem is when the company as it often does, does not reply.

It was a simple suggestion to say, you are not alone.

With ST.COM there is a lot of reading and the company answers can be interesting.
