I3G4250D: What is the output if the spin rate is 10-100X the full scale value. It will on board a projectile that spins up to 300 rev/sec (>100,000 deg per sec). Will it report maximum value always or fold over?

It will saturate to the full scale value (2000 dps).

The behavior is similar to the accelerometer one, that saturates when externa acceleration shock exceeds the maximum value.

This because the gyroscope don't measure the rotation in degrees, but the rotational speed (in degree per second), and this quantity doesn't fold up as for example an angle measure (360 deg and multiples).

You also have to be sure that in your application you are not exceeding the 10,000g absolute maximum rating, for integrity reasons.
