Question

We are working on design that would use the STUSB4500L in an all +5V system. The host processor is also at +5V. Unfortunately the STUSB4500L list +4.5V as recommended operating levels for the IO. What would would be risk of operating at +5V IO.

We are working on design that would use the STUSB4500L in an all +5V system. The host processor is also at +5V. Unfortunately the STUSB4500L list +4.5V as recommended operating levels for the IO. What would be the risk of using the outputs and I2C interfaces from the STUSB4500L being tied to +5V.?

The line that we would like to pull-up to +5V are:

SDA

SCL

ATTACH

ALERT

Using a translator isnt really an option. We are completely out of board space. And cost is an issue.

Please advise.

Thank you.

James
