Question

Regulatory domain and channels differences among FW version

I have a question or, maybe, a problem with my SPWF01SA21 module.

Unless it was running FW version 3.3, it showed the status variables wifi_reg_country = IT and  wifi_chan_activity2 = 0x00003FFF. It was able to find and connect to my WiFi network which uses channel #13.

After the upgrade to FW version 3.4, the status variable wifi_reg_country equals ITI, the status variable wifi_chan_activity2 equals 0x00001FFF and the module no more finds my network on channel 13, but still finds other networks which use other channels.

Reverting to FW 3.3, the module comes back to work again as before the upgrade/downgrade process. What's happening with FW 3.4?

Second question, how can we set the regulatory domain according to the country in which we are using the module?

    Ciao Marco,

due to regulatory domain, FW3.4 changed scan process.

These changes lead to a bug on last chanel scan (11 on USA, 13 on Europe, etc). I'm sorry. Scan on not performed on that channel!

FW3.5 solves this issue on last channel.

Moreover, a new variable has been added to set the country in which module is going to be used.

New FW will be released very soon. A few patience please... :)

    Ciao
