Problem Debugging BlueNRG-2

I am using an STEVAL-IDB008V2 board which contains a BlueNRG-2 chip. I am testing out this product using Keil uVision (version 5.29.0.0), and I am running the BlueNRG-2 sensor demo code (with sleep function removed; I learned this causes problems).

To debug, I have the board connected via ST-LINK/V2 with the latest firmware.

When I try to run debug, I can only connect to the device after retrying many times. I usually get the following error messages:

  • No target connected.
  • Error: Target DLL has been cancelled. Debugger aborted!
  • Cannot access target.

I noticed that the DL4 LED is usually off when I have trouble connecting to the device, and it is usually ON when I can connect successfully. Shouldn't the ST-LINK provide sufficient power for debugging?
