IO-Link Device Stack Upgrade Support for X-CUBE-IOD02

I am currently evaluating the following ST platform for an IO-Link Device application:

  • MCU Board: NUCLEO-G071RB

  • IO-Link Expansion Board: X-NUCLEO-IOD02A1

  • IO-Link Transceiver: L6364Q

  • Software Package: X-CUBE-IOD02

  • Development Environment: STM32CubeIDE

The STM32G071RB example project included in X-CUBE-IOD02 builds and runs successfully.

However, based on the documentation and the provided ministack library, the current software package appears to be based on IO-Link Interface and System Specification V1.1.2.

For a new product development, I would like to use a newer or the latest available IO-Link Device Stack.

I would appreciate any information on the following:

  1. Is there a newer version of X-CUBE-IOD02 that supports an IO-Link specification later than V1.1.2?

  2. Is there an updated version of the following ministack library that supports a newer or latest IO-Link specification?

iol_device_ministack_stm32g0_wc32_ot.a

  1. If an updated library is available, where can the corresponding library, header files, or software package be obtained?

  2. If the current X-CUBE-IOD02 package cannot be upgraded directly, is there a recommended migration method to use a newer IO-Link Device Stack while keeping the NUCLEO-G071RB + X-NUCLEO-IOD02A1 hardware combination?

  3. Alternatively, does ST provide another evaluation board, expansion board, reference design, or software package that already supports a newer or the latest IO-Link Device Stack?

The preferred option is to continue using the STM32G0 + L6364Q platform if possible, but another ST platform would also be considered if it provides better support for the latest IO-Link specification.

Any information regarding updated ministack libraries, supported software packages, recommended hardware platforms, migration paths, or roadmap information would be appreciated.
