Posted on December 27, 2015 at 12:02I have set my new SPWF01S module up and connected it to my chosen wifi network using AT commands via a terminal at my PC. Obviously this is not very end user friendly, so I wondered rather than writing a UI which parsed the AT, is there a way the network scan, configuration and connection could be down via a local connection to the websever and have some HTML pages on there to send and parse the necessary AT commands? Many Thanks. Tom #wifi #html #spwf01sa
Posted on December 27, 2015 at 11:57I have been following the https://my.st.com//public/STe2ecommunities/interface/Lists/WiFi%20Modules/Attachments/186/wifi%20Training%20-%20Hands%20On%20-%20FW3.3.pdf and I would like to connect to my SPWF01S via apache so that I can update and add the html pages. 1. I have opened a socket at the module - AT+S.SOCKD=32000 2. I have modified the httpd.conf file for my IP address and socket: ♯ Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to ♯ prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses. ♯ Listen 192.168.1.93:32000 Listen 32000 3. Posted on December 14, 2015 at 17:27Does anyone know what the ''CAPS'' number means on an at+s.scan response? For instance : ''CAPS: 0431 WPA WPA2 WPS'' - what's the 0431 mean? I'm assuming it's some kind of code field for the security, dhcp whatever....Would be nice to have a document describing what it means...-Seth
Posted on October 08, 2015 at 12:08Hello, i have a device, thats streaming data on udp Port 23. I want to read this data with a SPWF01S. The device creates a Network with no encryption in adhoc-mode (channel 11) I used the following to get a connection: AT+S.SCFG=wifi_mode,0AT+S.SCFG=wifi_priv_mode,0 AT+S.SSIDTXT=testAT+S.SCFG=wifi_mode,2AT+S.SCFG=ip_ipaddr,192.168.0.111AT+S.SCFG=ip_gw,192.168.0.1AT+S.SCFG=ip_dns,192.168.0.1AT+S.SCFG=ip_netmask,255.255.255.0AT+S.SCFG=ip_use_dhcp,0AT+S.SCFG=wifi_channelnum,11AT&WAT+CFUN=1 (i also tried it without the manuell ip-settings) on a browser on a pc i can reach the website of the SPWF01S if i type in the ip-adress, so there is a connection. Now i open a socket like this: AT+S.SOCKON=192.168.0.74,23,u,ind but if i use AT+S.SOCKQ=00 to see if there are any data, it is always empty (but the device is sending some, i see them on the pc) I also tried AT+S.SOCKD=23, with the same result. What am i doing wrong? Kind Regards Patrick #udp
Posted on December 14, 2015 at 12:01Hello,I use a IDB04A1 bluetooth shield on a STM32L476RG Nucleo board and I want to redirect the standard output through the ITM port to see my printf in Keil uVision. The problem is that the SWOTRACE pin of the ITM port and the SCLK pin of the SPI1 looks both connected to GPIOB_3 (cf datasheets). The printf I put before SPI init is printed but not the following one. Because the IDB04A1 is a shield i can't change the SPI's pins.Am I wrong ? If not, is there a way to send this printf without using an UART to USB convertor ?Simon Vanson #l476rg-itm-idb04a1-spi
Posted on December 11, 2015 at 07:15 Hi, how to differentiate two BLE module using there device address? i am using blueNRG module ,so how can i setup server/device address for two BlueNRG module /********************************* Ref code *********************************************/ uint8_t SERVER_BDADDR[] = {0x12, 0x34, 0x00, 0xE1, 0x80, 0x03}; // how to generate this address which is device address /* The Nucleo board must be configured as SERVER */ Osal_MemCpy(bdaddr, SERVER_BDADDR, sizeof(SERVER_BDADDR)); ret = aci_hal_write_config_data(CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_OFFSET, CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_LEN, bdaddr); /********************************* Ref code *********************************************/ #bluenrg #stm32l053r8t6-nucleop
Posted on December 10, 2015 at 13:40Dear STM, I would like to know if there is a command to get the RSSI of the AP which I am connected to. It seems that the only way is to perform a scan for all BSS. Thank you Paolo
Posted on November 27, 2015 at 15:14 Hi, I got a problem while using STEVAL-IDB002V1 eval. kit. It is not entering into DFU mode if i follow the procedure as per the documentation (because led is not blinking). Thanks in advance. Regards , Ratheesh T
Posted on December 09, 2015 at 17:53In my application, the SPWF01 needs to be both MiniAP and socket server. I'm unclear how multiple socket clients would be supported - my understanding is that when in socket server mode, the SPWF01 switches to data mode on an incoming client connection, after which a bidirectional connection is established between the host MCU UART port and the client. So, how does one support multiple concurrent socket client connections?
Posted on December 01, 2015 at 10:53I am using BlueNRG ver 2 device, I'm using not an ST MCU, but freescale's.SPI was porting to my MCU Kinetis and the issue is:Instead of getting the ''Blue_Initialized_Event'' (0x04, 0xff, 0x03, 0x01, 0x00, 0x01), I'm getting (0xff, 0xff, 0xff, 0xff, 0xff, 0xff).The first 5 bytes SPI are OK and the second 5 bytes are also OK.(the Bring UP is according to ''Bringing up the BlueNRG and BlueNRG-MS devices'')attached waveform to describe the SPI signals. Thanks in advance,Guy #bluenrg #bluenrg-unresponsive
Posted on December 07, 2015 at 19:00Hi, I use Spirit1 both with 433Mhz and 868Mhz on the same custom-designed board with stm32l1. The radio parameters are set according to the individual transceiver and the software configuration is done seperately as well. CSMA is enabled for both of them. There is no problem running the device with single transceiver (433 or 868 Mhz only). It sends/receives basic packtes properly (half duplex). CSMA works fine. But when I merged two different codes into one project and started to send/receive packets like previosuly, I meet Brown out event after every Backoff counter is reached flag. It continuously stays in Brownout once after Backoff is reached. For now the merged code runs only the selected transceiver (by software) in the device. It seems to work good except the Brownout issue due to CSMA I think. Because I dont met Brownout if I dont use CSMA. Do you have any idea what can cause that problem? And can you give some extra explanation abou
Posted on December 03, 2015 at 23:18Hi, In this device BOM, L4 is listed as a ''tuning cap'' and value is 1.8pF which obviously does not sound like an inductor value... Seems to be the same with L2 which value is 0Ohm. Please, can anybody provide the good values for those components ? Thanks Julien
Posted on September 25, 2015 at 13:41Hi, Is there any reference AT-commands library written in C for SPWF01 modules? Googling didn't help. Target OS is FreeRTOS, but generic C library is acceptable. I know, I can write it using state machines etc. It will take time. I believe many of you have already implemented something related. I would also glad to hear any clues on generic AT-commands libraries which could be easily extended for this module. They should support at least following functionality: - data and command states - async status messages from modem Could also somebody answer two additional questions: - if there any status messages while module is in data mode? So, should I check RX buffer in data mode for something like ''+WIND:''? - what happens in case of closed socket on remote end or lost network? Will module return to command mode itself? Answer to these additional questions would help in implementing own state machine. Thank you. #spwf #spwf01s-wifi #spwf01
Posted on October 20, 2015 at 09:05Hello.I set public address with the following command:Data: Data[0] = 0; Data[1] = 6; Data[2] = OWN_ADDRESS[0]; Data[3] = OWN_ADDRESS[1]; Data[4] = OWN_ADDRESS[2]; Data[5] = OWN_ADDRESS[3]; Data[6] = OWN_ADDRESS[4]; Data[7] = OWN_ADDRESS[5];Header: Header[0] = 0x01; Header[1] = 0x0C; Header[2] = 0xFC; Header[3] = 8;In one batch of bluenrg in response returns 04 0E 04 01 0C FC 00. ie all right.Another batch of bluenrg in response returns 02 00 00 00 00 - Unexpected answer. Similar problems arise with the command aci_hal_set_tx_power_level.All the other commands are working there and there are equally.Sorry for my English. Please help. #bluenrg-public-address-tx-power
Posted on October 28, 2015 at 16:30I have a question or, maybe, a problem with my SPWF01SA21 module.Unless it was running FW version 3.3, it showed the status variables wifi_reg_country = IT and wifi_chan_activity2 = 0x00003FFF. It was able to find and connect to my WiFi network which uses channel #13.After the upgrade to FW version 3.4, the status variable wifi_reg_country equals ITI, the status variable wifi_chan_activity2 equals 0x00001FFF and the module no more finds my network on channel 13, but still finds other networks which use other channels.Reverting to FW 3.3, the module comes back to work again as before the upgrade/downgrade process. What's happening with FW 3.4?Second question, how can we set the regulatory domain according to the country in which we are using the module?
Posted on October 29, 2015 at 09:34Hi all I'm trying to use SPIRIT1 as a simple receiver of OOK modulated signal using DIRECT RX MODE THROUGH GPIO but i'm not able to obtain a clean signal, I've always spurious commutations inside my data frame. It seems that signal is too slow compared with SPIRIT speed in gain change so i can see a lot of noise in the signal pauses inside the frame. Here some information about the signal: - frequency 433.92MHz - bandwidth 300kHz - Frame duration about 100ms - Pause inside the frame (up to 6ms) - Pause between frames 15ms I tried to use ACG with the largest measure time. It removes some noise but signal remain corrupted. Have you any idea? How can I improve the reception? One last question, have you some idea about why in the datasheet there is some registers with reserved fields that are used by ST Library functions to change parameters, but they are not documented in the datasheet (for example SpiritRadioSetAGCHoldTime
Posted on November 22, 2015 at 02:22Hello, I'm trying to figure out where I can download the AT2 1.5 or 1.6 firmware for the SPBT2632C2A.AT2. Our application requires features of the new firmware and we have a bunch of assembled units with freshly ordered modules running 1.3 firmware. Thanks, John #bluettooth-spbt2632c2a.at2

Posted on November 16, 2015 at 08:58Hi, I'm trying to establish a TLS communication using the one-way authentication. I loaded into the SPWF01 the CA certificate as described in the example of the AN4683 but when I try to connect to the openssl server the SPWF01 closes the connection with ERROR: SSL/TLS Error: Unable to connect (-1). I'm sure that the certificates are correct (openssl verify is OK), module's date and time are set corretly, the CA certificate is loaded into the module and the CA domain name is as espected. The FW module is 150410-c2e37a3-SPWF01S and I have used the last version of OpenSSL: openssl-1.0.2d Can anybody help me? Thank you. Paolo
Posted on November 17, 2015 at 15:05Between the rev 4 & Rev 6 datasheets there seems to have been a change in the centre pad size on the recommended footprint. It now seems to ask for 8mm max x6mm max - previously it was specified as 10mmx8mm! I have based all my designs on the larger pad. The datasheet revision history does not seem to mention this change. When did it come in? Has there been a revison change on the module? #spwf01sa
Posted on November 13, 2015 at 12:50Hi all!Please, can you help me. I have next problem. In My device I use BlueNRG-MS (HSI-16MHz, LSE ext - 32.768). BlueNRG init Ok, but not available in RF. He is active with a period of 30 seconds (name ''atn_B41'')But, then I made CS on SPI active (set ''0'') - BlueNRG-MS - active all timeCode init module:''main(){....getBlueNRGVersion(&hwVersion,&fwVersion); printk(''hwVersion = 0x%X fwVersion = 0x%X'',hwVersion,fwVersion); /* Reset BlueNRG hardware */ BlueNRG_RST(); wait_IRQ_SPI_FLAG(); Osal_MemCpy(bdaddr, SERVER_BDADDR, sizeof(SERVER_BDADDR)); ret = aci_hal_write_config_data(CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_OFFSET,CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_LEN,bdaddr); ret = aci_gatt_init(); ret = aci_gap_init(GAP_PERIPHERAL_ROLE, 0, 7, &service_handle, &dev_name_char_handle, &appearance_char_handle); //appearance_char_handle - 8; //service_handle - 5;
Posted on November 11, 2015 at 15:29Hello, I have a query. I have a Virtual COM demo Project by ST. It is meant for L053R6 with Blue NRG chip. Will the same work on L051R6 with the same Blue NRG chip? The UART pins seem to be the same. I changed the device in Keil Options for Target and also defined the preprocessor as STM32L051xx. So, it compiles with no errors and warnings. However, when I try to open the com port through Blue NRG GUI, it says ''invalid event. unknown event code.'' I am communicatiing with the GUI through UART, using a USB-UART converter. #stm32 #bluenrg #bluetooth #nucleo
Posted on November 11, 2015 at 11:44Hello, I am using STM32L053R6 interfaced to Blue NRG chip. I am accessing the blue NRG through VCOM. I have connected a USB to UART converter to a PC and was trasmitting the VCOM data over this. It worked!!! Now, I want to do the same in half duplex mode. I have designed a circuit for the USB to UART converter so that it acts as a single wire UART. It seems to work as I can see the data being sent to STM32. But however, there is no response from the controller. I doubt even if it is reading this data. Can you please check if my half duplex configuartion is right? Posted on November 10, 2015 at 19:47Hey folks,I'm trying to to create an img file from a web page using httpd_gen. The only version of httpd_gen I have is the source code (httpd_gen.c). I compiled this using gcc on two different linux machines (x86 based and ARM based). I try to download to a wifi module using AT+S.HTTPDFSUPDATE. The file downloads to the module, then throws this error on the last bit : Write len 617 -> 0x96000 (final) Wrote 90729 bytes Error (-12 @ 90725/540), cleaning up..I'm imaging the sample html web pages from the SPWF01S_CGIs_SSIs package. The output img file is almost identical to the outfile.img file that comes with the package, but it looks like the CRCs don't agree and the header area at the top of the img file is slightly different. Any suggestions?Thanks,-Seth
