stcommunity.st.com may need update/redirection

I have some stored links, which use the stcommunity.st.com third-level domain (note that it is not community but stcommunity), for example https://stcommunity.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/empty-check-mechanism-on-stm32/ta-p/49369

These now display a message saying Khoros is down. As it’s an st.com domain, i.e. under ST’s control, these may be changed.

A proper redirection would be nice.

Hi @waclawek.jan

Thank you for flagging these, I’ve now updated the conversations where the stcommunity.st.com link was used, including the ones you shared above.

I also reviewed the option for a static page or redirect for this temporary old domain. For now, we will keep the current setup, and revisit the solution if we receive more reports on this same issue in the future.

Thank you for your understanding and apologies for the inconvenience that the outdated links caused.

Kind regards,
Zita

Oh, I see, you (I mean ST) just disabled resolving stcommunity.st.com … now that’s NOT the proper way to deal with this - there are existing links out there, which deserve to be properly redirected.

Hi @waclawek.jan, thank you again for sharing your recommendation to resolve this. I confirm, that as the first step, the links that point to the wrong direction are disabled. I’m currently exploring if there is a way to apply a redirect. I keep you posted.

Kind Regards,
Zita

Hi Zita,

It’s not just about my links, but links which may be spread throughout the internet - including this very forum

Yes, there are not too many of them but it’s a shame it can’t be redirected. That domain is not used at the moment, so it might at least display a static page explaining the problem e.g. “you’ve used a stcommunity.st.com/xxx link, which is stale, try exactly same link with community.st.com” or something along those lines.
