Please prioritize Code in the editor pane's menu

In the editor pane’s menu row, the icon to enter Code is hidden under “...”. As it’s one of the most used things here, please change it with something else, e.g. the smileys (which are entirely unneeded in a technical forum), or the 3 line alighment icons (which are extremely rarely used in a technical forum), to be always directly present in the editor.

Already recognised as a necessary improvement:

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

Oh… I *was* searching before posting, I promise, must have overlooked it…

Thanks. This one closed.

to be fair, it took me a while to find it - even when I knew it was there!

and we went through all this with the old forum:

It’s not surprising. These “platforms” are whipped up by young inexperienced coders, ignoring what the old grumpies say, thus reinventing the wheel over and over.

But, as I said in that linked thread when we went through all this before:

This is such a long-standing issue - not only here but on pretty much all similar forums - that you'd have thought we should be past it by now!
