(never mind)

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

Just noticed that my signature now seems to not be showing at all.

Hello @CTapp.1,

The out-of-the-box setting is to embed plain text. The signature component does not support HTML, so line breaks cannot be introduced in this way.

As @Andrew Neil  mentioned, line breaks occur naturally because of page wrapping.

The signature should appear only in replies. This behavior was also present on the previous platform.

Kind regards,
Lina

I don’t think I used HTML to create them previously - just the edit box allowed carriage returns to be entered.

I use a multi-line signature so that I can add a disclaimer and acknowledge my affiliations to ensure there is no undeclared conflict of interest or an implied implication that I am posting in an official capacity. Something like:

All posts are made in a personal capacity

MISRA C WG Member
Director The MISRA Consortium Limited (TMCL)

Not a great loss if I have to change that into a single line, but it won’t be so easy to read 😉

@CTapp.1 , I checked and yes the previous signature box was a bit more flexible than this one.

Perhaps you can use some symbols, such as | to make more structured or anything else :)

Kind regards,
Lina
